The Pretence of Science: Methodological Erosion and the Reproducibility Crisis
This talk explores how fragile methods and weak reporting corrode trust in science. It revisits the MMR–autism controversy to show how misleading PCR evidence can fuel public harm, and it highlights examples of contradictory, non-reproducible results from across the biomedical literature. The talk also analyses RT-qPCR standards and reporting before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, asking whether lessons have truly been learned.
