About

This site is a resource for anyone interested in the science and application of PCR.

My work centres on the development and critical evaluation of PCR-based methods, particularly in diagnostics and gene expression analysis. I am lead author of the MIQE guidelines, which aim to improve the transparency and reliability of qPCR and RT–qPCR. They have been cited nearly 20,000 times and are now incorporated into international standards.

The guidelines were developed following my involvement in uncovering the misuse of PCR in support of the discredited MMR–autism claims.

This site brings together selected publications, commentaries, and recorded talks, alongside current projects focused on molecular diagnostics, reproducibility, and data integrity in research, medicine, law, and public health.
